Our Fifth and Sixth classes are participating in the National Children’s Choir again this year. I just received this email from them.
Hope is all going well with rehearsals and that the children are enjoying the repertoire so far.
During the Summer we were approached by the singer Jack Lukeman and the Blackrock Observatory in Cork to record a version of Bowie’s Starman. The fact that Starman is on the repertoire was a complete coincidence so needless to say we agreed. 64 National Children’s Choir children from schools all over the country directed by Órla Gillan have recorded the track and it is being released as a charity single today.
We have chosen the LauraLynn Hospice as the charity and all proceeds will go directly to them, everyone involved has given of their time and talents for free.
We would be delighted if you could show the video (YouTube link below) to your class and encourage your colleagues to do the same, and then notify your Parent body that the single is available for purchase on itunes. Every €1.00 download is €1.00 for the charity and one step closer to making the National Children’s Choir number one in the charts by next Friday!!
