5th & 6th Class trip to the Library for a talk with Paula Leydon
The children of Miss Quinn’s 5th class and Miss Power’s 6th class made a visit to the local library for a talk with the famous author Paula Leydon who wrote two fantastic books: The Butterfly and The Sleeping Baobab Tree. Paula who was a brilliant public speaker explained why she wrote such books and gave us an insight into the cultures of different countries, in particular, South Africa as her novel is based there. Paula gave the children a chance to ask many questions and listened intensely to her stories about growing up in Kenya. Paula was so kind and gave both 5th and 6th class children sweets on our departure. It was a fantastic trip all around.
Down The Dark Path
Two paths Divergent
You choose the one less travelled
As you start Down The Dark Path
You hear a sound
And Facing The Darkness to your left
You see The Gruffalo
Realizing that’s Where The Wild Things Are
You start Running
There is suddenly a Bend In The River you are walking by
You turn, only to face a tree Catching Fire blocks your path
Even though you are a Stranger In A Strange Land
You realize your worries are Gone With The Wind
Your Journey To The End Of The Night has come to an end
With you watching The Rising Sun
An Exciting Adventure
Coming from his Trial
Trying to find the file
The Book Thief and Harry Potter
Walked with the Otters of the World
They got onto a train
And met a girl who calls herself
The Girl on the Train
She showed us how to
Kill a Mockingjay
We travel through
A Passage to India
The girl on the train reminded me of
The Hunger Games
She didn’t have much Money
But she was very funny
We entered a town
Where people were acting like clowns
We passed a Girl who Played with Fire
We saw a wren being chased by
I saw Divergent ,around the bend
Bought a book called Of Mice and Men
And saw the famous
On a Journey!!!
One evening sat WAITING AT THE WINDOW,
I decided to take a WALK IN THE WOODS,
Later I set off to TRAVEL AROUND THE WORLD IN EIGHTY DAYS with MARY CORNISH,
I travelled BACK TO THE FUTURE as a MAZE RUNNER,
Running quickly before THE LION KING ate me,
I ran fast until I saw BLACK BEAUTY,
It stood ON THE ROAD,
Suddenly it was GONE after a minute I saw her.

I WONDER if I could travel AROUND THE WORLD IN EIGHTY DAYS on a lovely CRUISE.
I hope it won’t end up like the TITANIC and we would be 20,000 LEAGUES UNDER THE SEA. We were dropped off at an island, which looked to be magical.
It looked to be that there was little fairy like creatures. They all came together and formed a GOLDEN COMPASS.
I followed it to where ever it pointed and it lead me to a bridge, THE BRIDGE TO TERABITHIA. I crossed the bridge and had to MAKE WAY FOR DUCKLINGS and go past THE GIVING TREE. As I was walking , to my left
and to my right , I saw people FROZEN in time. It must be THE FAULT IN OUR STARS that made them frozen. All of that was just a dream and A ROAD TO NOWHERE.
Memories of 2016 Rang a Sé. They were an exceptional class. They were an example to everyone in St Joseph’s NS. We wish all the girls the very best in their new schools.
